I had a blast in the Canary Islands with Natural Mike. We met a lot of chicks including a Chinese 3 set which my LTR hooked for us. I see potential there for recruiting her as a wing to help us meet new chicks. She was very accepting of Natural Mike playing around while having a girlfriend back in Germany.
Then there was the close with the Czech chick. She was working in a restaurant with a Slovakian chick. Mike and I sarged both on multiple occasions and the Czech was more open and into being closed so we went with her. On the first night he closed an Argentinian HB and is arranging for her to visit him in Hamburg. This is on top of the Polish chick he already has coming to stay with him in a few days. I almost forgot the Italian HB we met in a cafe. She reminded me a lot of that actress in Mike Leigh’s film, ’Happy Go Lucky’ – very smiley and outgoing. She got Facebooked. Hey, did I invent a new verb?
Getting away from it all and relaxing has given me some perspective on what I want to do in 2010. My current job in England is pretty stressful and time-demanding so I am planning on moving to Spain or Portugal some time in 2010. Why suffer the cold weather, stress and ugly people of England when there are major cities full of major talent in Iberia waiting for me to explore?
It’s about getting one’s priorities right. England is so damn expensive that I am saving next to nothing. I could be saving next to nothing in Spain or Portugal and have more free time, good food, super nightlife and better weather. I’m thinking of Lisbon, Canary Islands, Madeira, Barcelona or Andalucia. I’ve worked in Madrid before so I doubt I’d go there again. Somewhere new appeals.
I’d look for an apartment with a spare bedroom so my friends could come down and visit. I’d have more time to work on my 4 Hour Work Week plan and contribute online to the community. The sunshine makes a huge difference to my health and happiness and it is not too far from my family in England – just a couple of hours by plane.
So that is the plan I am working towards. Taking action and having something to work towards is empowering and I am determined to take action. For a long time I have been treading water in less than ideal circumstances. Think of a buoy bobbing around in the water being pushed around in the rough seas. Now I am building my yacht and will sail where I want to go. The sea will carry me to where I want to go. I like this metaphor.
